Click-to-unmute / Tap-to-unmute Player settings

The following Player parameters are no longer supported:

  • enable_click_to_unmute
  • enable_tap_to_unmute

Timeline

Sept. 21st 2026Corresponding toggles Click to unmute and Tap to unmute Player settings removed from Studio.
Sept. 24th 2026

  • GET requests on Legacy API that ask for either field return it with the value false. This is temporary compatibility behavior, not a supported integration path.

  • Usage reviewed and identified partners may be contacted before the fields are fully sunset.

Sept. 28th 2026Both parameters to be sunset. Requests containing them return 400 Bad Request.

Required actions

  • Remove enable_click_to_unmute and enable_tap_to_unmute from all POST API requests.
  • Remove field requests such as ?fields=enable_click_to_unmute or ?fields=enable_tap_to_unmute from all GET API calls

Start Player with sound off

There is no replacement for these deprecated settings. If the Player should start without sound, using the mute settings:

Viewers can then use the standard Player volume controls to turn sound on.
